Principle of Duality
©
Kabalarian Writings

In the past two issues of The Newsline, we have been presenting the Kabalarian concept of life--what is meant by the Principle of life and how the Principle can be understood through an understanding of the duality of life--Reason and reality.

Positive and Negative
Positive and negative are further definitions of the duality of being.  Kabalarian teachings often use positive and negative to differentiate between good and evil, but on a more constructive level, the positive is the higher energy, the invisible part of life, the intelligent aspect of life.  The negative is the lower or the finite expression of the higher positivity but in an opposite form, just as the image on a photographic negative is reversed.  The negative is the opposite of the positive, just as the image in the mirror is the opposite of the object being reflected.

Positive and negative help us to understand the duality of being of the Principle of life.  There is a higher invisible, and unknowable part of life that is the constructive power of intelligence behind the visible part, but the visible part should be the reflection of intelligence in reverse, not from good to bad, but merely from the invisible to the visible.  For example, if a very pretty woman looks into a mirror, the reflection is not of an old hag.  The reflection is the backwards image of a beautiful woman.  The negative is not bad; it is just opposite or reversed.

Positive and negative define the duality of the higher and lower, where the higher is cause, the motivating, constructive aspect of the duality of being, and negative is the reflection of it.  Negative is the realm of form and dimension, the plane of reality which can be sensed, measured, and understood.

Positive and negative help define duality; reason of being and reality of being define positive and negative a letter further.

Reason of Being
Reason of being is a term to explain the intelligence of the Principle of life.  The reason of being is the intelligence that creates the harmony, the pattern, the picture of balance within life itself.  The reason of being is that which makes being what it is.  A little seed has a power within it which is the reason of being.  It is the power of the reason of being that makes the plant the being itself.  The reason is the intelligence that guides and controls and directs the unfoldment of the being.  The power in the seed controls the germination, the sprouting, the roots, the leaves, the buds, the flowers, and so on.  Reason is the positive expression of the duality of the Principle and allows the Principle of life to express intelligently with reason.

In the concept of reason is incorporated such words as logic, balance, and harmony.  Reason is the relativity of life that shows a consistent relationship of logic.

We could say logic of being, but Reason is more definitive.  Reason is not only logic, but has a larger connotation meaning there is more power to it.  In other words, something may have a logical arrangement that is reasonable, but the term reason of being has a motivation which is expressed through the reason and has a greater potential than just logic.

In other words, you may arrange something logically, such as dots--one dot, two dots, three dots, etc.  They are arranged in a logical sequence, but the reason behind the logical sequence is greater.  The reason has the potential of expressing something more through the logical sequence.

In the next issue of The Newsline, we will discuss the Reality of being.

A Happy Mind is a Healthy Mind
I cannot stress too deeply the importance of one's constructive mental attitude toward life.  One gets out of life what one puts into it; everything must be seeded in different degrees.  Always express happy thoughts and keep an uncomplaining mind.  A complaining mind is a destructive one--destructive to health and happiness.  How easily we may be made unhappy depends upon the weakness and ignorance of our own minds.  Happy thoughts expressed are like the sunbeams that create warmth--that stimulate one's sense of well being and make us feel happy.  Give happiness and you will receive it in return:  it is a natural phenomenon of a balanced and well-ordered mind.  Do not complain; instead seek the solution to the problem, and then you can do something constructive about it.  This can best be accomplished by forgetting self; too much false value is placed upon self and personality, thus developing an overrated and inflated ego that see all things in proportion to its own ignorance.

There is no greater gift we can bestow upon others than a happy smile and a constructive thought of well being.  To be happy means that one must first have happiness within, and this comes only through a balanced mind and wisdom.  "Seek ye first the kingdom of God (understanding) and all these things shall be added upon you." St. Matthew 6:33

The greatest word in all languages is understanding.  Learn to think about life:  the part we are intended to play in the scheme of things.  Learn to value the principle of relationship:  i.e., we are all One Life, One Breath, and One God.  Therefore, there is good and God in all things.  Look always for the good and you will find it along with wisdom.

Name Analysis

JUSTIN, QUINN, CONNON, SUNNY, SLOANE, THOMPSON, ALEXANDER, KEATON, RUBY, ANNABELLE, CAROLYNE, ROLALINE, CHARLOTTE, BONETA, ADRIANA, GEORGETTE

Happy-go-lucky, good natured, and expressive, these people are usually the life of the party.  They love arguments and, having very imaginative and quick minds, they find it very easy to hold their own in debate, not always upon logic and reason, but because theirs mind are too quick for the average person to pin down to a particular issue.  They can avoid issues with great ease and ofttimes unobservably.  They are extremely emotional, and at times, can exhibit a strong temper in which they can be extremely sarcastic saying things for which they are later sorry.  However, there is one saving virtue:  they can be sorry very quickly and they are not afraid to say so.  They are so quick minded that there are time when they can be somewhat intolerant of others and the hurtful words are out before they have a chance to really think about what they want to say.

They are very versatile people and express more along the artistic and creative lines, desiring an occupation where they are free to follow creative ideas in contact with the public.  They like people and have many friends, although they lose interest in people very quickly, desiring always to make new friends.  They crave change and variety.  They love to talk and to be the centre of attention and draw others to themselves through their terrific sense of humour, their likable personalities, and desire for amusement.  They have a good appreciation of the finer things of life, of music, art, and drama.  They love to sing even if it is in the shower!

They are visionary and imaginative, but lack concentration of thought and action.  Thus, they do not develop their talents to the degree they should because of procrastination and lack of system.  They always mean well, but are too easily led, particularly through the affections, to which they gladly succumb.  They love the element of surprise and often act on the spur of the moment.

They could be happy in sales, as radio/TV commentators, in acting, commercial art, journalism, as public speakers, as interior decorators, or following any path that requires creative and artistic ability.  They cannot stand monotony.  They leave so many things undone because of boredom. These people find it almost impossible to conform to time and routine.

Through tension or over-indulgence in wrong foods, they could experience skin or liver problems.  They love to eat and keeping the weight to a normal range is sometimes a challenge.

Other names may help to offset the inconsistent and unsystematic qualities; otherwise, many things are started and not completed.

Questions

 1.  I have often pondered the remark that God suffers through the ineptitude of mankind, that he suffers infinitely.  What is the Kabalarian theory upon this point?

Answer:  To suppose that God is an individuality with the capacity for mental suffering is to place God in a secondary position, one whom people can hurt if desired, a power that has not the power to eliminate the evil that is causing the suffering.  Suffering is the result of a lack of knowledge of the laws of nature; it constitutes error and is the manifest effect of a basic cause.  If God is perfect wisdom or the essence of Consciousness, then he is manifesting perfect equilibrium; and where such is the case, there can be no error or ignorance.  Suffering is the expression of the emotions; mental suffering is when the mind is influenced by emotional forces that create discord and then disturb the rhythm of one's life.  If God is the cause, he could hardly be influenced destructively by effect.

God is Consciousness, not an emotional manifestation individualized.  To say God suffers through the sins of humanity destroys the very divinity of God.  Only humanity suffers because through lack of knowledge of a Spiritual Principle.  Kabalarian teachings never associate chaos and suffering with Divine Consciousness.

All people live under the principle called time, the positive side of which is called the Cyclic Law, which represents time linked with the law of growth, showing the varying phases of growth of plant life.  It follows growth from the seeding to the plant's fruition, and shows the periods of time that embrace each phase of growth and how each phase of growth has its own specific gradation.  The same applies to each person's growth, not physically, but in every phase of endeavour.

There are active periods in everyone's cycle and times when one is forced to wait for certain growth to take place; this is where patience and waiting is the prime requisite, and there is nothing one can do abut it.  When we adjust our thinking and actions to allow for quiet, restful periods, as well as active ones, thus is patience a natural phenomenon, a time of rest from labour.  It is our continued struggle against time that destroys patience and peace of mind.  In this case, the proper admonition should be:  Get in tune with nature; learn to understand and apply our efforts to the Cyclic Law.
