Theory of Relativity - Relative to Time

The theory of relativity is synonymous with the name of Albert Einstein, who gave to the world a new concept pertaining to the interrelationship of the energies of life. It is the Kabalarian intention to establish a new philosophical concept of relativity applicable to the spiritual quality of time.

The understanding of time is a challenging mental exercise. It is easy superficially to equate time to the position of the earth relative to the sun and even the graduations of changes with civilizations, geological periods, and celestial positions. However, there is a much more subtle yet profound recognition of the value of time and the intelligence of time.

Quantitative Concept

It is easiest for humankind to develop the understanding of time on a quantitative level. In terms of duration and spatial distance; for example, how long will it take me to reach a particular point--five minutes? one hour? one day? We relate time and distance in this particular manner. Or we may say, how long have you been waiting--20 minutes? one hour? a week? Again, a durational period we conceive as time. This is the quantity of time. How much? How long? etc. Of course, time is linked to the pattern of life as expressed by the relationship of the earth to the sun, which creates the changing seasons, and it is also true that life on earth is dominated by the intelligence expressed by the sun through its role as the nucleus of our universe. What, then, actually is time?

Qualitative Concept

Kabalarians have learned that there are two aspects to mathematics: quality and quantity, and yet we know that all life is mathematical. We know that life embodies the positive and the negative, the reason and the reality of being. Time has sometimes been referred to as intelligence in motion. We also know that the quality of anything is relative to the intelligence of it, and therefore the quality of time is the intelligence manifesting through time. For example, if you are kept waiting for thirty-five minutes, what is the intelligence manifesting during that time? Patience, irritation, and frustration, or observation, analysis, and mental growth? What was accomplished during the thirty-five minute delay--the development of an emotional state, apathetic state, or a state of mental awareness.

Kabalarians understand and follow the cycle principle, which defines the intelligent pattern of the unfoldment of growth which expresses a law unto itself called the law of cycles. This permits the intelligent use of time and the planning in preparation for time yet to come. Thus time is both quantity and quality, quantity being the durationary period to which the quality or intelligence of a particular expression is most suited. We utilize this knowledge in planning our future, considering the appropriate actions to be taken at the relative times indicated by the cyclic principle

It is time that we considered a new meaning for the word, "time" or that we developed a broader concept as to the meaning of time. Have we ever considered time as a power unto itself, as a potential? We know that there is nothing outside of time in this finite plane, but have we considered the relativity of everything in the finite plane of time?

Take, for example, a chair. What is the relativity of time to that item? Can we perceive that time is to that chair what the power within the seed is to the plant? Time is not just a void to be filled. Time is a power of potential, requiring only humanity's mental creativity to develop that potential into reality. It took time to build that chair, and without time there could not be a chair. A slow worker with limited ability would use time to build something of little value, whereas a craftsperson could use time to build a chair of intricate design, superb workmanship, and elegance of style. Each worker utilized time, and the time on the quantitative side was the same; time on the qualitative side differed because of the intelligence expressed by the different individuals. It might be said that time did not create the chair but mind created the chair, using time to manufacture it.

What, then, is the relativity of time to mind? Can you separate mind from time? We have been told that there is no distance to mind and distance is spacial in nature, yet mind is a finite power of intelligent expression. How then is mind limited to time? Thought processes take time but Consciousness is timeless and concept is without time, and so while thinking is restricted to functioning within time, Consciousness and conscious concepts are not.

Time--the Dimension of Mind

It might be said that mind is three dimensional with time being the dimension of mind. We think in terms of past, present, and future: memory, analysis, and visualization. All thoughts relative to life as an expression of finite growth are linked to time, for everything finite is part of time. However, the principle of life and what we might describe as the truths of life are timeless because they are an expression of the Consciousness of the universe. They were true yesterday, they are true today, and they will be true tomorrow. Time does not change or alter truth; time permits the ever-changing manifestations of the principle of life which at any one moment is but a partial representation of the whole truth or whole Principle.

Kabalarians measure the inner potential, the birthpath, according to time, and it is the time of birth that denotes that specific power that is awaiting fulfilment through time. Our minds are the product of our experiences within time and the sum total of our thoughts and conclusions derived from living in relative environments and from educational influences.

How often have we used the expression, "If only I had done such-and-such instead of what I did, things would be so different now"? What would have unfolded within the time misused or within that period if you had taken the other action? Of course, the results would have been different and life would have been different and we would have been different individuals, different minds, different people. It is true that it was our own decision that determined the action, but what of the potential that was not fulfilled within the time wasted?
